Hello all. Name's Garrett, live in Hurst.
I used to be quite active over on the shadowriders forums, but they have almost gone dead, so I need a more active spirit community. I have a 2001 Spirit 750 street tracker. This is my first bike that I've owned for 10+ years, and I don't see myself getting rid of it, as there are too many memories. It started life out as a loud (baffle less cobras) and low (struts) cruiser. It transitioned into more of a little chopper (apes, 210 rear wheel, shorter and louder pipes) before my back and ears were yearning for suspension and comfort. That's what inspired the street tracker. I briefly rode the bike with the mostly current configuration and it handles REALLY well all things considered. It's surprisingly light and nimble, especially with the 14" rear shocks!!
It's been sitting for FAR too long (life and my modification itch got in the way), so it's currently (and slowly) being brought back to life. Here's a brief description of the work done thus far:
-Emulator front forks w/ SKF seals
-Galfer wave front rotor
-Tubeless front spoke wheel
-F3 rear wheel w/ galfer wave rotor
-Speedo delete
-Superbike bars
-LED headlight w/ 3d printed headlight ears
-Shaved and folded tank
-Uni pods directly on carbs
-Shorty choke levers
-Rearsets
-Dirt tracker tail section
-Hagon extended rear shocks
-Stainless brake lines front and rear
-Custom 2-1 exhaust w/ supertrapp silencer
-Dyna 3000 (still don't know if this one is going to work as I had to make a custom adapter to fit the spirit from the ace)
-Dyna coils
-Emission hose minimization
-Custom radiator shroud/guard
-factory pro shift kit
-HD clutch springs
Future plans (after I get another one of the bikes up and running) will be for a hi-po engine build using some goodies from a Hawk GT, JE pistons, ported head, bigger cams, yada yada. Hope to make around 60 wheel HP after all that. Also would do a mono shock and custom rear subframe at the time, but that is pretty far down the line.
I'll get some pictures up soon of where it was, is now, etc. Let me know if you have any questions!
