You guys are too funny. Ya took all the words out of my mouth. Leaves me nothing to say, but I wish I could have rode with ya.
The last time I cut across to Quincy form Oroville, it was a dirt logging road. (been a few years). The DW and I were covered with powder dirt. Most of the ride was under 25 mph due to all the pot holes. My front forks were air and all of it had leaked out at the start.
But it made for a memorable ride. I have never forgot it and remember every dust particle and pot hole along the way.
I never did see Bucks lake, but I did stop at a logging company named "Walkers Trucking" at the summit.
When we arrived in Quincy we went to the Library and looked up my birth announcement. Went something like this, "the little giant weighed in at 12 pounds 12 ounces". I don't know if I still hold the record, but in 1947 I was the largest baby born in Plumas county.

p.s. It just finished raining. It began about 1am and is now 3am
