    Hi.
All is working great. Not any one big thing, but a lot of little things were finally sorted out. As long as the engine was running and was warm, it would run well a long time, but once I shut it down, it would not get going again. The biggest problem was recurring carb fouling with tiny black specks of something. I changed all the fuel lines and added a second filter -after- the fuel pump and it stayed reliable after that.

Arthritis kicked up and I was not able to ride much at all the past month, so a guy offered me a good price for the bike and I sold it today. But, I picked up two other vintage bikes to start restoring! I like working on them more than riding, I guess.

Thanks to all commenters on the forums for their help.

I saw in a post you said that a 750 spirit seat would fit an RS.
Do you know that to be true ? It would be the best bit of information I've ever found on this site.

    My bike is a 2012 VT750RS

    thanks..

I'm asking you this because I know you're an admin and I don't know who can answer this question:

I am a new member and posted three threads in the new member's forum. My account says I have three posts, yet I still cannot post threads on any other forums. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Joe

I was not even addressing you in my reply to drop kick pride. What's your problem man. My bike is a great bike. Lots of miles. I've exchanged engines. Completely rewired everything on it. I do my own suspension work. Do my own painting. And yes even fix my own mistakes and yes I do make mistake. I've done all the work. Learned mechanics in the navy then worked on river boats on the Mekong river 2km off the Cambodian border and the Ho Chi Minh trail. Yes we had torque wrenches there as well as incoming. So look, let's call this a poor start... Failure to communicate. We don't know each other and who knows if we would get along or not? Don't get up in my face again and I won't get up in yours.

Learn some manners dude. I don't know you. You don't know me. Yet you run your mouth. If you think the dude needs to use a torque wrench then why don't you tell HIM so. And even if you may have had a point your a** hole attitude undermined it. Just sayin it straight up. Man to man. Privately. I'll call it a mistake on your part - publicly sniping at someone you don't know and someone who had said nothing to you.
    Peace out, michael
