Thanks for the response. I have started the painting process with the same stuff. I am cutting back the fender and changing the handlebars out. There is a lot of info on this site, and so far I think your bike is my favorite.
Your bike is great. I just got a 83 vt750. Your bike is great. Where did you get your black lights and speedo etc. Did you lower your bike at all?

I enjoy this site almost daily. Informative and entertaining. Seems to be a small surge of these old scoots here lately. If one is patient and searches throughly, all the info is available within this site to keep these things running.
Noob w/pics vt700
Great site!! I've been lurking since January. I enjoy and learn from all of you. Picked up a stock '86 vt700 non runner early this year. It had been parked with just under 14k, in a carport, but still exposed to the salt air of the coast. Went with Rust-o-leum satin black on pitted parts , modified rear fender/frame, and misc. other parts. Special thanks to 'tubes_rock' for his posts showing how durable this model can be.
