1984 Honda Shadow VT 700 C replace ignition switch with simple toggle switch? Can you tell me on a simple toggle switch which wires go where? Got One red, One Black, One Brown/White and Two Brown?

Hey all, I am new to this forum and have a 1984 Honda Shadow VT 700c The ignition switch rear cover came off and harness disconnected from switch. I put back togeather without rear cover but bike would not turn over. If I connect a jumper wire from red wire to black on the harness bike turns over, turn signals work and headlight works. Brake light comes on only when I push rear brake pedel, and not when I apply front brake lever. Tail light does not come on. If switch itself is broken is there a way to solder togeather wires with a toggle switch to get tail light working as well? Harness has 1 black, 1 red, 1 brown and white and 2 brown wires. The ignition switch from parts suppliers has been discontinued.
