Full tank of Stabil, remove the battery or use a battery tender, and cover with a canvas tarp not a plastic one or you will have rust problem. Forget the silicone suggestion.

Actually the 1500 Classics were lighter than later models @ 644 lbs. dry weight. Add 50 lbs. for fuel etc. you're looking @ roughly 700 lbs.

I've used the tool kits in the old days and never had one tool fail whatsoever. They look cheap becuase of the galvineal coating they apply otherwise they will serve you well if you ever need them....
