Gotta give a positive post about these guys:
BlueCat Motors: Minneapolis & St. Paul Motorcycle Service, including Vintage Motorcycle Restoration for European and Japanese brands | (651) 645-1172
They are tuning up my bike, replacing the chain, etc. They're not bargain-basement cheap, but they're an awesome set of guys.
We (Leonardos Basement - hands-on art, science, technology workshop
) are setting up a booth for Open Streets - Lyndale in a few weeks along with Alt Bike Shop (The Alternative Bike/Board Shop | Bike Sales, Bike Repair, Skateboard, Snowboard - Minneapolis The Alt
). We're going to be modding donated pedal bikes into art bikes for kids/teens/adults who want to participate. I asked the guys at BlueCat if they had any additional motorcycle junk parts they could donate and they came up with a box-full of shocks, handlebars, chain, bolts, trim, springs, covers, etc. for us to stick onto our creations!
They have a ride-in on 3rd Thursdays throughout the summer. All historic and modern imports welcome. Domestics are welcome, too, but not appreciated like the guy with the '58 Triumph. There are bands, food truck(s) and lots of great bikes.
I'm hoping to hit the next one on June 20th. They have a 20-piece brass band (ska?) lined up!
And, if you're interested, we'll be at Lake/Lyn for Open Streets. Hope to see you there!
