Thanks. I ended up using a 413. It’s longer than the 412 but got me back on the road sooner.

New super cheap luggage....ready for a trip. if it'd stop snowing

Well, I scored some saddle bags from NPS for $35. That was unexpected. They're some cheapies (on ebay for ~$75), but good enough till I can get some good boxes. They came with Rain covers and a bunch of straps, I haven't figured out yet. The backpack came from Wally World. It's water resistant. (works like a drybag), its big, and fits on the sissy bar. $35, as well. So, for $70, I've got enough luggage to get me out on the road. I had to lose the stock turn signals. I made a mounting bracket out of a piece of flat bar and bolted it to the license bracket. I already had those LED bullet lights lying around. A little soldering and shrink wrapping and I was good to go. Sometime down the road, I'll take the time to re-route the wires with the brake light cable, under the fender.

2006 Aero - changed the spark plugs, drained the oil, destroyed the old filter getting it off bc whomever did the last change wrenched it on so damn tight I had to use the chain vise grip to get it off!

After that I spent some time cleaning oil off my garage floor...

Also noticed 3 chips in the front of the tank that are starting to rust. Any suggestions on how to clean and fix?

I have the power

I added a power port and wired it in, off the battery. Ran some nice heavy gauge wire and connectors all shrink wrapped. I was trying to figure where to mount it, when I realized the little rubberized port fit nicely into to metal cable retainer, kinda captured by the "Y" where it goes back to the mounting bolt. Its in there solid. I also stuck a phone holder on the bars. I'll probably replace it with something better, its kinda rickety. Although, I had it on my GS and it never dropped the phone.

@LordFlashington, I don't know what color your bike is but even some car wax will help prevent more rust. Or some touch up paint with a tiny brush.
If it is black I have used a felt tip marker just to hide and preserve a chip temporarily.
