Got the Barnett clutch in the mail today. The kevlar discs are currently soaking in oil. Tomorrow we ride, and Monday we wrench.

Took a ride to my local Honda dealer in So. St. Paul and came home with a new HJC FG Jet helmet amongst some other items that were cheaper than on-line. They had a 10% off sale on their helmets and have been wavering between the FG Jet and the IS 33. I went with the FG with it's Fiberglass Kevlar composite shell. The 35mm cheek pads are too tight so the chin strap bites into my jaw bones so I ordered up a pair of 25mm pads even tho the helmet still needs some breaking in.

I got an HJC FG-17 a month or two ago, and its AWESOME. Much better than lots of other helmets I've worn.

I bought some 1/8" * 3/4" *4' aluminum bar stock the other day and today made two rectangle pieces to hold my saddle bags in shape. Bolted them inside at the top lip of each bag. now they look better and won't have a gapeing hole for water to get into if it rains. they for some reason would not stay in shape but they will now!

In new home!

Things are now as they "should be".

Got my new 2 1/2 mini tach and got it installed today. Looks great seems to work good so far, and hardwired in for keeps.

Bought the Ebay one that others recommended, and it was a good deal for the price I think.

Chrome Mini Tach Tachometer for Honda with Clamp VTwin | eBay

So I do have a question for anyone that installed one of these. When I turn the key on, and also when it first starts, it pops up to 8,000 for 1/2 second then down to correct idle speed. Anyone else notice this?

My Cobra tachometer I had on my VN900 did exactly that.Does the tachometer have a steady needle at idle or does it fluctuate? The Cobra Tachs although expensive, have very steady needles.Planning on a Tach purchase in the near future myself.

Interesting...Yes, I'd say it's steady...within 100 RPM or so I'd say (no real bounce). Bike was cold and just ran for 2 minutes or so, but seemed to respond fairly well. I'll know more when I go for a ride once it cools down.
