I chose bullet casings for a few reasons. 1: they are a high quality brass and will hold up well to the elements.
2: They are quick and easy to work with which is a big concern when you have to make large quantities.
3: They will polish up very nicely once Im finished and should petina nicely.
4: A friend gave me a bag of fired casings so I have plenty of free meterials. Also a large plus when making large quantities.

my process is getting faster. today during my lunch break I managed to make 26. I only have 41 casings so I guess I'll do all 41 and will probably have to find more casing as word got out and orders are coming in. People keep asking me how much I want for them but I refuse to sell them. I'll make one for anyone who asks free of charge because thats what my dad would do. There are more important things in this world than making a couple bucks.

I appreciate the offer for postage but honestly its just worth it to me to know that my dad is remembered and this gives him the chance to keep doing what he loved, helping other riders enjoy their machines. My mother used to jokingly call him the patron saint of motorcycling as he would often go to great lenths to help others. He even worked at a struggling motorcycle shop for almost a year for free because he said they needed him. he insured that every kid he ever met had a bicycle because thats where the love of riding comes from. This is my way of honoring his legacy so I cant except any money for it. If you feel indebted just pay it forward and help a fellow rider, thats payment enough

Really nice @Kris Carr ,,never sold mine, gave a bunch to folks here several years back. Now I'm away from home/and shop for better than 90% of the year and haven't done any for awhile. I've sent bells from Canada to Florida to the west coast, with a guarantee that the bells would tarnish. I used 1/2 inch copper pipe, bench vice and small chain for the clapper. Pics likely went when photobucket got greedy.

Really impressed. Thanks for sharing. I might get to tinker again one day.

As soon as you become accustom to anything, some moron has to change it.

If @Kris Carr is nice enough to send you a bell, by all means make it worth his while. I just mailed a bell to Canada and it was $10 and change.
