There is a Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial close enough to me, but I don't know if that would be considered a National monument.

Here's the list.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

You realize there are only 129 National Monuments, and not all are in the continental U.S., right? I can't speak for the Aussies, Canadians, Kiwis, and others here, because I don't know how many national monuments they all have.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._United_States

Heck, there are only 3 in Texas (closest is 200 miles away), 1 in Guam, 1 in the Atlantic Ocean, 4 in Alaska, etc. Does it have to be a National Monument? Can it be a state monument like the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site? Not that I'm whining, just wondering if you realize there were only 129 National Monuments, and most aren't what you would expect.

Hey everyone, sorry if this turned out to be a PITA. I assumed a few different things on this and you know what happens when we do that. I figured it might be a bit tough but didn't want it to be impossible. I did note there are a few monuments in Australia and new zealand so I wasn't trying to leave anyone out. Would it be better if I just said a monument or memorial of some kind?

May make it easier, but id give it a little bit. @Theja1 is on the road today, maybe he'll find one near a watering hole somewhere.

Give it time first, but be prepared to change or modify it after a couple of days. There are people who no doubt live near a National Monument; I just don't happen to be one of those people.

Would one of these sites count?

http://whc.unesco.org/en/list

Other than in Ottawa, we don't have too many "National" monuments in Canada.
