Dagnam it!

In a few minutes I'll be embarking on a trip taking me past the Patea hydro station, New Plymouth dam and one other one that I cannot recall somewhere waaaaaaaaaay out in the whopwhops, one where the road is the top of the damned thing.

But of course as I'll be travelling with others, the trip will purely (and HORRIBLY!) be by cage alone, no chance to take the bike

I'll try and get some bonus pics though.

@KiwiRider, I want to see pictures of the whopwhops.
I don't think they grow up here in the states.

Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

So, I've claimed 3 dam pics over the years, all 3 NORMAL dams...
So, if you agree, how about a new dam....
A beaver dam.
This is on the bridge that's over it. I tried to take pics from high up, but with traffic and winter gear, I wasn't pushing my luck. Call these bonus pics if y'all want.
If you agree.....

Your bike and something unique ish to your area. Something it's KNOWN for. Your town, not a long distance tag call here, just post something from your town or a neighboring area that if any of us Google that town we will have an idea what you did, maybe we can see/learn more about it.
Like @Theja1 posting Alabama pic, from Tuscaloosa
Or @chevyman_ky with a coal mine something

There's a much nicer one on the other end of the pond, just can't safely stop to see it.

I thought about whats unique for our area and I guess its Port Waikato, The longest river in NZ exits to the ocean there, its also known for its Surf, Sand and Sunsets

The Sand is Black and has enough Iron in it to stick to magnets, The Surf is great when the wind is in the opposite direction to what it was last night....and the sunsets are killer (Couldn't stick around last night, had to get to the pub before the kitchen closed...Very Hungry)

River mouth a mile up that way..can't get near it, the sand by the bike looks black when wet (8pm and people still swimming too)

Surf club, This has been shifted back 3 times..... the coast has retreated a lot, The whole bottom car park is gone

Sun getting close to setting

Now if I was still at Sunset Beach (Port Waikato) at this time it would be looking mint about now

Bonus pics from the Port I took in December

out at Port but by the Waikato River

If this is OK

Next tag Bike outside a Dinner/Pub/Caffe etc (this is a old pic)

Great pics! Yep, works for me. Those things like that are unique and some of us woukd never have thunk of it until this tag, that's exactly what I was after. I may have to call that again, just for more examples
Not sure when I will be on the bike again, won't be this week, a wedding and some other things are gonna prevent that.

I took these photos the other day, but forgot to post them. So, they are now “bonus photos”. Anyway, out where I will be living, and where my VTX currently “lives” the area is known as the low-country. It is part of the ACE Basin, but nothing in particular stands out except the scenery.
