Normally, Jan 1st is for Polar Bear rides. Well, here in central VA it is 60 degrees and sunny. Put on my half helmet (Santa brought it so I figured it was a good day to give it a try) and went for a ride. Mid-winter and still riding. Ya can't beat that!
The wife and I went out for a first year ride. It was a brisk 39 degs here in Kansas City, but very sunny. We were only out about 20 30 min. Still fun.
We rode to a New Years Eve Party last night to celebrate with a girlfriend of ours who's 13 year old girl was hosting a party for all her friends so there were 5 adults and about 15 screaming 13 year old rugrats that almost had the neighbors calling the cops. Party animals they are!
We spent the night and rode back at 9:00am in 38 degree, bright and sunny weather.
We got really lucky in Northern California and had a beautiful New Years Day to ride in.
I got myself invited to a Polar Bear ride along with 24 V-Star's.
It was a 7 hour day for me. Minus out 1 hour for breakfast and 3 short breaks during the ride, and the rest was in the saddle with a big ole grin.
In my opinion, this pic was the best looking bike in the group. (Only cuz you can see my front tire though).
Went for my first ride of the year also. Phoenix to Queen Creek AZ for a BBQ with some friends. 86 miles round trip. Saw lots of bikes out today. Beautiful weather here in Arizona.
First ride of the year was today, low 40's in NE Ohio. They say it's going to be around 50 tomorrow. Going to try my new (to me) chaps for a chilly ride to work in the mornin.
On the spur of the moment (influenced by the gorgeous weather) I decided that the honey-do list was sufficiently advanced, grabbed my helmets and my 7-yr old and went for a little spin.
