Biker Memorial Thread

I have been thinking about doing this thread for some time. I am not sure if it is allowed or if the members think it is in bad taste. If either of these are the case please delete this thread.

My intention here is to have a place to post the names of fallen fellow bikers, their dates, and any pertinent information. As a reenactor of the War Between the States we remember the soldiers that served in that war (Both Sides) and I thought it would be something to start here.

So,,,here is mine,,,

Matthew "Shadow" Dyer
10/16/1960 - 12/18/94

Matt was my cousin and he is the one that really started me on my life and love of motorcycles. He was out riding one day with his fiance, they stopped to have a cup of coffee and a snack. Not long after they got their order Matt's heart exploded. I was so glad that they had stopped. I rode from Atlanta to Orlando for his memorial run on a Suzuki GS450L, in January.

He rides with me always! I love ya Cuz!!!

"Older" guy that lived up the street from us. I was maybe 13 and he was 19 or 20. Tooled around in a Chevy Corvair that had slightly oversized tires on it but otherwise, it looked like a beat up Corvair. He had put a small block V6 in the front of the thing and it was fast. I guess a true 'sleeper' if ever there was one.

He also had a cool looking motorcycle. Don't remember the make other than it was a typical 1970-71 standard Japanese bike with an inline 4 engine. Fast. Would go by in a blur...at least to this 13 year old. The guy never got tired of me hanging around and looking at his bike and shooting the sh!t. I thought I was hot stuff hanging around with this guy.

Ernie Worthington. My dad was a policeman in our township and I remember him coming home and telling me that Ernie had been hit by a car while on his motorcycle. He had died. I don't remember the exact year, and most of this memory is a 45 year old smudged up blur. but I remember that guy was always nice to me and never made me feel like I was being a pain (lord knows I was though.)

Only person I can say I knew who was a biker (more of a motorhead), and should be remembered.

When all think alike......no one thinks very much.

James Paul Lewis (Paul)
7/7/1955~7/21/2012

Paul was my cousin-n-law and loved to ride his fully dressed Harley, fast always fast. Always ready for a good time or a good fight, great guy and friend. Paul lost his fight with cancer at the young age of 57, he tried to beat it but it just was not meant to be.

I may not always mean to say it out loud,
But I always mean it.

Patch I wear in memory of a buddy. We went to high school together. A few years ago he was in a bad bike accident, survived only to get hit by a car a year later as a pedestrian.

Had a good friend I served with. We were in bootcamp together, "A" school together, ended up on the same ship working together. We went out downtown Philly and got our first ink together. He bought his first bike and it was identical to my first. We had some good times. He struck a car which had stopped in the middle of an intersection to make a left turn, instead of stopping behind the line "as is required by law". the impact separated his brain from his spine. I was honored to escort him home and present the flag to his mother. I will always carry him with me.

Thank You Eric for this memorial thread...
It has been quite a LONG time since I`ve clicked on "General Discussion" but today, checking on a "sticky" I`d requested, I found this "Biker Memorial"

Gone But Not Forgotten

Joey Brush is a long time friend...
I met Joey through our ABATE of GA organization, shortly after I joined forces here in GA...
Like myself, Joey was dedicated to our fight for the rights of motorcyclists in GA...
=Whether traveling through our state or residents=

As active Lobbyist for our organization, he was headed to meet with our Governor in hopes to get the bill signed on "Red light = Dead Light"...
He was killed at an intersection during early morning rush hour, where someone pulled out in front of him on his Bike...

We miss Joey, his love for ABATE of GA and his cherished friendship...

Rest in Peace Joey Brush
