I minor rip in my seat

Hey folks,

Good morning! I have two very minor rips on the passenger seat of my Shadow. Any suggestion of a product that I can just apply to cover these rips?

Thanks
Mihir

You can get new seat covers that are relatively inexpensive off ebay.

The young-uns will not understand tube patches. I remember as a kid my uncle using the heat applied patch that you had to light some type of gun powder substance on the pressure tool to vulcanize the patch to the inner tube. That was fascinating.

I found a video to show the the old process ( the language is a little crude).

I guess I got off topic with the patching video.

There are people who do vinyl and leather repair that can fix holes and splits. Even kits you can buy to do it yourself.

I had both seats recovered for $75 at a local upholsters shop back in 2011

It`s starting to show the seams stress by "coming apart at the seams"
The outer fabric is aloose from the cloth inside at the needle holes...
Cheap stuff I reckon???

Yeah, I`ve used them Hot patches, but NOT on seats

Replacing the cover is easy. Get a replacement, ebay or Amazon, and take off the old and put on the new. All you need is a staple gun.
