Shark Evoline 3

Who's got one, and what do you think?

I love my Scorpion full-face, but I've got a few bucks saved up and ordered an Evoline 3. I followed the size chart to the T, but what I got was too small. So I'm in the process of sending it back, and now I'm getting cool feet about it. Not sure I want to spend that type of cabbage on it anymore. Tell me it's worth it.

For those who don't know, this is the modular with the chin bar that rotates all the way to the back of the helmet. Very cool concept and I love to have the breeze in my face when we move off the highway.

There's a review in gear guide section. @PhantomRider64 has one, he has had it almost a year as well as @enforcer76
They are slightly heavier, but to me they are wonderful, I will probably get one next time I need one.

I never had Shark helmet before, then last year, I decided to give it a try and bought this one :

and found out that Shark helmets are very good quality, without paying the high prices of the Arai or Shoei.

As @Coop said, I got one about a year ago. The Helmet felt small (confining) to me when I first got it but as I wore it more it felt better. Most of the reviews that I read stated that the helmet was tight but that it it loosened up a bit after use. I believe that there replacement chin pads that are not as thick as the ones that come with the helmet. The helmet is a bit heavier than my full face but not bad. I got the helmet primarily because of the chin guard rotating to the back of the helmet out of the way and that the visor is left usable. With the chin guard back and the visor up the helmet is still comfortable to at least 70 mph, it has never felt like it was going to pull my head from my shoulders.

The helmet is great in my opinion. I really like the versatility that it offers and want to use it more than I do. I am a half helmet person and any other helmet style just feels strange and confining until I got this helmet, my face still feels squeezed some but I can get the wind in my face when I want. Another great feature is the drop down sunshade. It is great for those days when cloud cover changes drastically. On very bright days I wear my sunglasses and also use the drop down sunshade,,,makes for a very comfy view.

I have since installed a windshield and I am back to the half helmet,,,without ear plugs!!!,,,so I am not wearing the Shark as much. The Shark will be used for cold and/or rainy days.

Hope this helps,,,

It does help...thank you. I have always worn a full face, and I'm looking for something less constrictive without giving up safety. This is the only modular that seems to fit that bill. I am guilty of wearing my face shield up on my full face a LOT so that I can get wind in my face. Can't wait to get my replacement Shark and try it out, though the way we're going, it could be another month or more before riding weather. 😞

A riding buddy has one he bought a few years back, he really likes it, Kind the best of both worlds. Lower it when you ride in cold weather and flip it up when it gets warm,. I have 2 helmets a Nolan flip face, and an HJC open face. I decide which one I will use before I take off depending on the weather.
