New England Fall Foliage Pics

I rode up into the mountains of Western Maine and into New Hampshire today, taking as many pics as I could, hoping to find some good foliage pics. I'll leave it up to you how they came out.

This picture is taken across Moose Pond, and it shows how a partially cloudy day can highlight certain areas and shade others:

This is a view across a potato field in Fryeburg "Harbor" where my father grew up, looking up into the mountains, where I am headed:

This is a view across a field in Chatham NH with the foliage, a house at the far end of the field, and the clouds which would end up making me very cold later in the ride:

Another view across the same field, highlighting the foliage a little more:

I'm getting up into the clouds now, it's getting colder, but the views of the rocky terrain and foliage at Evans Notch (mountain pass) are great:

Another view from the same location:

And a third view from the same location, showing the birch tree lined narrow road up through the mountains:

Foliage along the Androscoggin River between Gorham NH and Errol NH:

View of the area around Mother Walker Falls in Grafton Notch State Park:

Another picture of Lola in profile:

A roadsign in Waterford ME that is the subject of many Maine postcards. There are many surrounding towns named after countries (I have high school friends from Denmark and Sweden, and I currently work with a guy from Poland):

There is nothig more beautiful in the fall than New England. I rode the Blueridge Parkway out of NC and Skyline Drive in VA yesterday and there were just a very few trees beginning to change.

Great pics...makes me miss New England.

That last one of all the town/direction signs...I've been through Mexico, Maine...went through it riding the New England 1000 for my Iron Butt certification.

I have a friend from Vermont that says our beautiful fall colors don't compare to New Englands I'm afraid he might be right. rv

Throw the flag.

'T' him up.

Wow, having scenery like that to ride in just isn't fair.

Great pics!
