93 vt1100 choke cable - oem vs motion pro

So, I need a new choke cable for my 93 vt1100. Its the one thats on the left hand switch and splits into two under the tank. The OEM one is like 55 and the Motion pro is about 10 cheaper (from what I found).

Now, I've seen it both ways...one the OEM is better, another the Motion is better.

Anyone have any advice on this?

Motion Pro is a good company. you shouldn't have a problem with them. Motion Pro is what we recommend at the shop for all our cables.

I started out with nothin'... and i still got most of it left.

It's JUST a choke cable. Personally I'd get the cheaper one. Being that cheap MFG happens to be Motion Pro, even better. Now on the choke Valve components, I would go OEM, or at least Keihin.

Wasn't aware you could even get choke valve components. Why would you ever need them, unless your bike sat for quite some time and they got corroded beyond usability?

Yea you can get them. My bike lives outside, no garage. And I ride in the rain. So even though it's under a cover it is exposed to moisture. Moisture and cables don't mix. Any way, IF I don't keep the cables well lubed and clean they rust and corrode. My cables are 10 years old. Gravity has a way of depositing water thet finds it's way inside a cable housing to the lowest point of the cable. On the choke cable that is the valve. It doesn't take very much water to disolve those littte springs.

I used Motion Pro on my 96 vt1100 with no problems. I found it on ebay and was cheaper than that. If I remember correctly it was about $35 with free shipping.
