How to disassemble turn signal

I have put quite a bit of force trying to "unscrew" this but I don't want to break it. So can someone tell me how do they come apart?????

Just a wild guess. You may have to remove some of the guts inside the cup. Is there a nut inside under that piece of metal where the wires go into the cup? Or maybe lefty tighten and righty loosen.

Take out the two screws inside and pull out the guts. That back plate has a clip on the left side that is holding the rubber. At least thats how i remeber it. Its been a little while since Ive had mine apart.

That's where I'm leaning. Are you using these in the rear? If so you need to change the lense to red.

So hows this get a turn signal apart? I only seen amber on the rear as long as I can remember. My 71' CL 100 are amber.

To everything there are exceptions.

The two screws and then pull on the upper part that wedges the rubber into the housing. Wait, those are 1157 sockets, you cant use an amber bulb as a tail/running light. If you want to do this you need to put a clear lens and use a red bulb, preferably an LED bulb as incandescent colored bulbs are usually too dim.

These have a clear bulb and amber lenses. This is what comes stock on the rear of the VLX. I'm going to use these just the same. These are turn signals..... Not tail lights.

So I have figured out how these come apart and have taken some photos along the way. I will make a thread about it all when I'm done. Right now I have another question.

Can I cut and splice into my wires without having to disconnect my battery? If the key is off I shouldn't have any voltage flowing right??? Taking the leads off the battery on my VLX is not easy to get to.
