If the carbs are coming off again you can do a bench sync by sliding a .002 " feeler gauge under each throttle plate to get then very close to an equal setting.

I always think of these V twins with 2 carbs as 2 separate engines connected together. You want all the parts contributing equally for smoothness and power.

When you make both throttle plates move at the same time, both carbs and cylinders will be working the same for balanced power. That will work all the way up to wide open throttle.

Must of been bad info I was told, my bad

You are right on the idle screws, they do only effect about up to 1/4 throttle. They are called the low speed circuit.

I agree with that info, was told that syncing the carbs is really just for a more even idle and doesnt help past 1/4 throttle, never really did my own research about it

Check to see if you have a kinked fuel line. That will greatly restrict or prevent any fuel from reaching the carb.

Make sure air box is in place and sealing good. OEM box requires suction and too much fuel will drown it and stahl. Zero out the air/fuel screws and then. Go 2 turns out and test and then in quarter to half turn increments and see if it improves.

Also, leave the choke in. Once i restored my 02 VT750dc i found i never need choke... Ever. If you put an after market air intake, this could be the problem. Use clean plugs and then idle it for say 30min. Then check a plug. If its oily, too much fuel. If its a burnt white, too much air. Hope this helps.

Hi all, thanks so much for the help.
I ended up going to a trusted mechanic for help. After listening to all the attempts I made with the carbs, he promptly told me to "not mess with the carbs". He then informed me that the problem was dirty carbs. Hard to imagine after taking them off twice, but I'm not complaining. The bike runs a dream now. Appreciate everybody who replied.
