Installing custom exhaust without re-jetting??

Hello!

What "could" happend if you install a custom exhaust on a Honda Shadow without re-jetting etc.?

I owned before a Yamaha SR500 and installed a straight pipe on it without any re-jetting, and drove it for many years. That worked out fine for me!

Have any of you heard a mechanic say: "Damn, this engine was destroyed due to the aftermarket exhaust install"?

Shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't change jets with different mufflers I have put on. Just look at the color of your spark plugs after a ride to see how the mixture may need adjustment. The idle mixture screws will help to a certain amount also up to about 1/4 throttle.
The engine should never get destroyed unless the plugs are white and the engine is running hot and lean.

Would you recommend these?

I think they will fit fine.

But it says they are bare metal so you have to decide what look you want. Rust or paint?
And are they open tubes or have baffles? I can't tell.
If open they will be loud.

I donīt know if they are open tubes or not....can one assume that they have some kind of baffles inside?
The cost only 53 USD each so they are not that expensive.
