VT700/VT800 1988 original headers + custom exhaust

Hi!

If you try to attach some aftermarket pipes on to the original headers on a VT 700/800, how will that work out?
I mean the aftermarket pipes are straight and the original ones goes a bit downwards..

When the original headers goes upwards at the end, do you have to install some "adapter" part between the headers and the new pipes??

Many of the after market mufflers come with several sizes of adapter bushings. I even us Permatex Grey gasket silicone sealer when I install them. Works excellent to prevent leaks and can stand the heat too.

I cut the angle off and welded on some exhaust pipes from autozone and then bought baffles for them. Sounds great!!
