New front brakes not stopping...How long till they break in?

I changed the front brakes on my bike this afternoon and noticed they werent quick to stop. The brake lever works fine and the brake fluid where it should be. I rode about 10 miles and it got a smidgen better. Any ideas how long it will take for the brakes to "break in?"

Well it all depends on the condition of the rotor but usally it doesn't take long, right now there just hitting the Hi areas and as soon as the pads get formed to the rotor the brakes will improve, practice your hard stops, grab it hard enough the the form wheel shudders, that happens when your breaking at full capacity and it will take a lot more to do that than you think plus it's good to know how hard you can hit the front brakes with out locking it up, a few of those kind of stops and the pads will be broken in.
