Highway 17 and points north...

Being that I am from Jacksonville, and don't get home much, I try to take advantage of every opportunity to get home. Given my wife's work schedule, it does not look like a trip home is in the works for the both of us this holiday season. However, I was thinking about taking the Shadow and riding from Fort Eustis, VA down to J'ville in December for a few days. I was considering taking Hwy 17, since it runs pretty much the whole way, and is NOT I-95.

Has anybody ridden Hwy. 17 that far? If so, how is it?

Haven't been it in a long time but it's an interesting ride. You go through a lot of small towns and it will take a few hours longer then taking 95.

IF you`re talking about US "hwy" 17, I`ve ridden parts of it...

Many US Highways can have good stories and bad stories told about them...
I prefer US Highways over interstates when "making time" is not a necessity...
Many interstates and US Highways run parallel to each other...
I might suggest you try the US 17 route and reserve I-95 as an option for "making up time" IF needed...
