Welcome to the forum.

I am a faithful Honda bike person myself.

I was a Japanese auto tech for 40 years, Toyota and Nissan. But when I got my new to me 1983 VT750 I thought I needed to back to tech school. So study the manual to know your bike well.
If you didn't do much carb work you will learn these CV carbs are a learning experience.

Congrats and welcome aboard. If you think the Shadow Spirit is going to be fun, just wait until you get your bigger bike. What do I mean? You’ll see.

I started on a shadow 750 and loved it. Great learner bike. Now I'm on 2300cc. I recommend the shadow to all new riders

Super happy with it thus far, thanks!

It looks like it's set up for either quick release bags or sissy bar? Do you have them?
It was set up for some really basic leather bags that didn't fit it well with some pretty crappy mounting brackets. I cut all the round stock off the lugs that bolt to the rear fender and I now use those extended fender bolts with some bungee straps to hold down a backpack and early morning insulated leather jacket.

I like how you say S2000's are slowing down LOL
When you've been 175mph+ in a 2100lb(with driver) Civic hatch you slow down with an S2000... LOL.

I've got experience tuning late 70's early 80's Honda carbs, My brother owned the lowest mileage most original '79 Prelude in the US(21,000 miles in 2012 when he sold it). Import carbs are FUN, I LOVE a challenge.

Going to go through at least two seasons of riding before I buy something bigger, but that doesn't mean I won't buy an old CB 500 four to amuse myself.

I feel very welcomed to this board, I cannot wait to share the fruits of my mechanical experiences with the members here. Been turning wrenches since I was six years old and to this day have never met something mechanical that I cannot repair or replace.

All the best.

Looks like you got a Good Deal on a nice bike, congrats. I bought my Spirit new in 2001 when the model first came out and I'm still riding it today. Love it. Ow and Welcome to the forum.
