Have had 1980's Suzuki shaft drive since 1982, 650, then 850 then 1100.
GOt the VT500C due to seat height concideration, for wife to learn on. WHich she did, and then lost interset after a couple years. But I keep it as a guest bike and as a winter beater.

Oh, now, my son.. I told him he needed 2 years expereince driving first, and then let him use the 650 while he lived at home, but I would not give it to him, I would not let him buy it from me. If he was going to hurt himself on a bike it would have to be a bike he got himself.
He got a SV650, then he got a Triumph Tiger 1050.

Now, my son in law, he got a Harley Dyna.

    ANyway... I am yacking.... yammering.

    Good to chat with you.

    Merry Christmas

Esch..... I quess I was yacking.... didnt know about 100 cahracter limit.....

SO at age 27, I buy one, a KZ400, And am standing there again, looking at it. Motor, cycle, motorcycle, motor, motorcycle .... Ah, oh, er, what are all these levers and pedals???? The guy says this is clutch, this if front brake this is rear brake, this is gear shift, one down and 4 up .... and walks away. I look at the shift lever and see the 1-n-2-3-4-5 marked there, what did he say, one what, 4 what, huh... . He comes back later and helps me get it in netural, start it and he walks away. I managed to to make it out of the parking lot, keept repeating to my self front brake, clutch, rear brake, shift lever... I dont know how I figured out the shift pattern, because at first I thought it had 6 positions. Was a few occassions in that first few months that I could have killed myself. Did run off road more than once.

WHn I was 18 I had a job landscapings and lwan maintnace, so on a regular basis I would go to these places, busniness and residentail complexes, and a few of those places had motocycles there on repeated occassions. I found myself standing there looking at them, ew, motor, cycle, motorcycle, motrorcycle, motor, wheels, motor, cycle, motorcycle. Then seeing a few in motion AH! AHH!

Only 2 times have I rode over there to visit him. Both times not on the Shadow.

Have riden over that way two other times, again, n ot on shadow, for the Stockbridge All Clubs bike show in the twon square. Has been a few years, since last time, should do again.

I am only/first on in my family, or actaully I didnt hardely know anyone that rode.
Well, in college, I did have one guy in a class that rode in a few times, and I saw him riding a few times, and did get him to give me ride. But other than that, no real association with anyone that rode.

    Chuck,

Brother lives just outside of town, Hickory Ridge, south of 59, mobile home park. Been there 8 or 10 years (and Walled Lake for 20 some years prior). Nope, doesnt ride, well, unless count a battery powered scooter thing. He lost one leg to diabetic related condition, and other leg is not too servicable either.
To tell you more how that happened: I dont know entirely how he did it, but he keep working until he collapsed, and was taken to hospital, and a day later was on life support for about a week, then after that they amputated to save his life.
So if you know anybody that is diabetic, dont be hesitant to harass them about talking care of themselves (especially if get the ulcers on feet).
And since then he has lost sight in one eye, and other is marginal.

DOnt know why I mentioned my brother, I guess was just saying that I knew were Milford is and have been there a few times. I recall a little bit of the downtown area, but not specifically the CInima.years

    Hi Redman52,

I've lived in Milford (in the village) since 1977 behind the Milford Cinema. Where abouts does your brother live? Does he also ride motorcycles?
