Odd on the batt. I haven't had any die that quickly unless they've been drained.

The only ones I've ever had real problems with short lifespans were the YUASA branded ones, as you've no doubt seen. Usually due to terminals that were terminal.

What did you go with in the end? I have a motobatt AGM my cat brought me 6 years ago that is still doing Winter starts.

Yeah is getting interesting around these parts. Might end up with a consultancy business :) Can't say more but I've been approached by someone to see about what we can do :)

Bike is going well. Just got a new helmet yesterday, about 12 years over due (as in my last helmet I've had around 17-18 years...) Been getting some riding in and a couple of weeks back put on >1,000 miles on the clock (would've been more if I'd not used the car for a couple of trips - must have travelled close to 3,000 miles in the week).

God willing we'll have a warmer winter or I'll get some better gear and can ride year round this year :)

(BTW, had simply missed the message till today :( )

Been very busy of late, but getting some time to myself again :) Work, chores around an injured older friend's house, his garden, my garden, developing some rainwater catchment and partial filtering systems (250 gal, more storage and filtering to be added as I get time and $$$), and finally some riding time.

Spring is here, and the last cold spell of the year in its last days. Riding nearly every day, even if just a 5 minute blat down to the local shops :)

Hi, hows life treating you? Well your spring is coming and my fall .Been riding my bike often and enjoying the chrome comments. Most know its a old shadow and Shi+ when they see the 5400 mile odometer. Cruised a little in my 50 ford and 58 chevy but like 2 wheels so much better.Hope all is well .I so dread winter ,this year they say lots of rain but warm .

Not too cold today but will rain soon. I've been making a box for my lawnmower which is coming along slowly BUT is coming along really nicely, even if I am over-killing it. I found a large pallet that would easily have been 6' tall and the top and bottom large enough for the mower. I made 4 legs from another pallet, took the top/bottom of the 6' one and screwed those to the legs, and put a wheel stop on the back of it (so the mower won't hit the back wall or (while there is no back wall) run down the bank). Then I've been using the bits of plywood that made up the sides of this thing to make weatherboard-like sides. I've never tried to tackle anything outside of a simple box before so I am quite pleased with how it is going.

I am missing the bike, if only just for the fact that $20 filled the tank and lasted me a week most weeks, whereas the car is taking closer to $40 a week and NOT lasting!

I know what the "running so fine it scares me" thing feels like! One of my old girls used to have times where the better it ran today the worse it'd be tomorrow, ie if it felt, handled and sounded like **** today it would tomorrow and probably the next day. If it was peppy and smooth today, you best make alternative arrangements to get to work tomorrow. If it handled well and had plenty of power, you order a new engine...

Sadly riding is stopped tor a bit - maybe 6 months. Cage back on the road instead.

But.. Lots of rain today, so good time to revert to cageyness....

    You?

Hey..spring is almost here and hopefully riding soon!Suppose to be upwards of 20 cm of snow this evening into tomorrow so BOOO!I have had it with winter as well..it can go home anytime soon ;) Peace

Either you guys do your dates by the weather or you have them a long way off from us :)

Our spring is officially 1st September, summer officially 1st December, autumn/fall 1st March, winter 1st June. In reality, spring starts 1st-3rd week October, summer is February - March, autumn is the first and/or 2nd week of April, and winter is the rest of the year :)

But at least up these ways we very seldom get any snow on the ground, and even what gets in the higher ranges around us might only be there for 2 or 3 weeks at most, sometimes much less :)

    [edited for clarification]

Doing OK. Autumn is coming then winter, but it very seldom snows here. Some wet, some cold, some frosts, but not to bad; normally I can ride year-round.

Loving the shine on the bike, not so much the work that'll be needed to keep it there :)
