I am a new owner of this bike. What can you tell me about it?

Brake system is a bugger to bleed. Lots of info in Tech section.
Electrical problems tend to crop up in higher miles.
Clymer manual info on installing starter sprague is backwards.
Good power, fun bike.

I have heard the bike run, it really needs new pipes on it so loud you couldn't tell anything from the engine. It also seems to have a second gear problem. It will be a fun project for me. I am excited about getting into it. What pipes would you suggest for a good ride bike? I don't want it loud....

I had Mac slashcuts... nice bark, but not piss-you-off loud.

Brake & clutch system actually pretty easy to bleed, once you've found the upper banjo bolt.

I love my '84!

I have replaced all electonics on my 84. The stator needed to be replaced so I just went through and replaced everything. Its a great bike and very enjoyable to ride. Love mine!!
