I read this from the forum:
“The 1998-2000 VT1100C3 and 1995-1999 regular ACE are single crankpin models, all other 1100s are dual crankpin”

wouldn’t this mean then that the old engine was dual pin and the new one is single pin. I wonder if the ignition system can be the same with such a different motor. Everything is possible but I am between two things here. To but a new ICM or actually open the motor and check that the timing marks are correct, because I know that PO changed the chain. So it could be possible that the 2nd cylinder is actually timed wrong, or is it?

I checked the harness and there isn’t actually that much difference. Some safety functions, like stand switch etc.

Ordered a new ICM from HPI and now it runs like a charm. Still confused how the PO had it almost working with such a mess of a ignition system. Anyway, thank you all for your help!
