Brings back some great memories of the times we spent outdoors, all day, everyday in the winter. With 12 kids, it was pretty much the norm to get outa the house whenever possible or we'd end up tearing each others eyes out when we were kids. We either ice skated, went snowshoeing, or went sliding on the nearby hills with our sleds. I can remember getting off the school bus, changing clothes and heading for the hills with our sleds. We'd slide till dark and come home froze. Our fingers and toes were numb, but that didn't stop us. We did it every chance we could. It did feel good getting back home to a warm stove and those days will be forever etched into my brain. Those were the good ol' days when kids made their own entertainment and seemed to have alot more fun.
Rosy cheeks and all!
