Good afternoon to all,
i just thought i'd share my story since all of you are taking this journey with me. i "had" an 86 shadow and just found out 3 days ago that the engine was completely shot due to no compression. friend i know who deals motorcycles checked it out and gave me a few options with regards to the engine, leaving me no choice but to get rid of it and start over. as luck would have it, he had just received an 02 honda shadow spirit 750 and offered me a sweet deal. i could take this great bike and in return, he would take my bike off my hands with a little bit of cash alongside with it. i am so excited to say i now own a newer bike with PLENTY of compression. i have been riding for the past 2 days despite the heat here in SoCal and i am loving it. heres the new baby...

In the old days, low/no compression was usually repaired via top end rebuild.
Guess those parts are hard to find now...depending on engine size.

But, looks like you've got a more fun bike to play with now :)
