Does anyone have any experience with an aftermarket speedo? I have an 02 spirit 1100 that i would like to possibly make this change on.

Depends on what you want. I went to a GPS speedo/tach when I shaved the tank.

I put an ACEWELL on my old VLX nice but a PITA to wire up
I kept my OEM speedo cable and put the sensor for the acewell on the cable- I calibrated with a mounted GPS
