Air pressure for new Metzler tires??

I now have new Metzler ME 880's on my 2003 Sabre. I was wondering what air pressure I should run. According to the Metzler web site I should run 36 psi in the front and 38 psi in the rear. Doesn't that sound like too much? What would you think would be a good pressure so I could get the best wear/performance from my tires?

I run 38 on the front and 40 on the rear and currently have 18,000 miles on my Metz and have a few thousand miles left easily! 8)
My mech says run 42 on both front and rear. Been working good for me.

I believe the Web Site recommends 36 frt and 38 rear, that's what I use as a single rider and if two up I add a few #'s to the rear.

That's the max presser for the tire. You don't use that on motorcycles. Motorcycle tires are a pain when it come to air. way to much and you get uneven center ware. Way to little you get uneven side ware. Little to much you get a hard ride. Little under and you get a spongy ride with site loss in handling. They defiantly have a sweet spot.
