Hi, bought a cheap and a bit tatty VT500C a few months ago with the idea of riding it over the winter and if I liked the ride keep it and make a few changes - go down the bobber route.
I have had a few honda - Monkey bike, NSF125, CM250, a 400, forget which?, CB750C which I had for years, GL1200 and now the VT500C. For some reason I always go for honda until earlier this year when I got a sportster.
The sporster is nice but not one for the uk winter or wet! This is where the VT500 was to be run. Got the bike sorted out and ready for the road but it does have a bit of popping which I will tune out with a/f screws. The other problem is that when I start from cold the bike starts fine and idles fine and runs fine but will just die after a quarter of a mile - it's happened twice now, all going nice at 4000rpm and then it dies like it has no fuel. Wait for a couple of minuets and it starts with choke and runs fine. Just doing short test rides for now to try and short the few problems.
Anyone got any ideas.
I have put some photos of the bike below - when I first got it and after a tidy up and painted black. Like the forum, hope you can help.
