Another problem with vt500

Alright guys my bike has been running good recently but now i start it today and it is back to trying to stall at 2000-3000rpms.

If I pull the air filter and give a quick burst of carb cleaner into the air box it will run perfect for a couple of minutes, I mean wide open to idle and back never misses a beat.

But then it starts running the same again.

Could this be from an intake boot making it run really lean or something?

What is the difference?

At cycle nation what's the difference of vt500c a and vt500c Ac
I think, repeat I think, that it indicates which color the bike was, black or red--"a" being black and "ac" being red.
If someone knows different I'd like to know.
It's not a color code

It's not a color code.
It may mean: A=America, AC=America-California.
Makes as much sense as anything else.
There is guy on eBay that sells an add on stainless steel plate that fits underneath your existing plate. I bought one for my bike and it fits perfectly and works great. The original plates are all cheap cast aluminum and tend to crack around the screw holes.
Every used original that I saw was cracked or had the beginnings of a hairline fracture.

There are 2 different guys on eBay selling the plate. Go with the guy that claims to be the original. He also supplies longer screws to account for the added thickness.
It works with the OEM plate. Weld any cracks in the original and use it the plate. Works.
