Except for the seat post and motor mounts, will a vt750 engine (chain drive) fit in a sportster frame? Or would you have to move up in frame size? I'm thinking it would, but I'm just piddlin' right now. Thanks

Even if it did bolt right in, VT750 engine has the chain on the left side of the motor. Sportster has the belt on the right side. Any thoughts as to how you'd be working around that?

I have to ask, why would you want to do that?

It would not "bolt in". I would move the seat post and make new motor mounts. I asked about the bare frame not an entire sportster. As to why, 1. I've mostly ridden Harley's and love their look. 2. A guy down the block has a hardtail frame he offered me.
