To build or buy someday? I answered this on another forum and was THOUROGLY trounced. I know this forum is more @ restoring and rebuilding than customizing, but I just can't get comfortable with shiny, new looking, "perfect" type bikes. I tend to like Euro or Asian rat's. Anyway, here's my dream bike, x-cept for the car tire in front and I'd rather have an 11 or 1800 Honda or yammy motor.

Build one! My perfect bike is so far from what you can buy, new or used. So i just keep building and building... If i had the money i'd have a hardtail, springer front shovelhead harley. Dont care if it leaks oil or leaves me straded. I cant afford one, so i made this outta my shadow. Close enough for now... And ive only been messing with it since i bought it stock three weeks ago.

A mint CX500 Turbo. I've followed a couple on ebay, sadly lacked funds at the time.

The Honda dealer I had bought several bikes from let me take an extended test ride on a new one back in '82 and loved it!

Ok, maybe a mint 1979 candy red CBX...

cshaw07, very cool. I've ridden a rune, didn't really appeal to me. I've owned a chopped panhead, but parts got too x-pensive, and are getting harder to find. Here's an '82 xj750 I built. Not everyone's cup o tea, but I liked it.

I built a bike last summer that I had fantasized about for years and would have loved to keep (photo below). Sadly, I have a deal with my wife that I have only one keeper at a time, and for practicality's sake that will be my Duc for the foreseeable future.

i'm a little south of you in louisville, and i think i saw a turbo in a shop last fall? i want to say it was a place called cc powersports, but i tend to be out wandering from dealer to dealer if i've been out there (it's actually just south of louisville) and i may have forgotten exactly where i was when i saw it.

Cool bike and worthy of a dream list. They are wildly impracticable, but that is part of the appeal I guess. It is a classy bar hopper for sure. LOL
There is a guy at a local church around here that has a Rune with a sidecar. It is his daily ride.

I don't have a dream bike, per se...but my next bike is going to be some form of touring bike, already set up from the factory with bags and a fairing.

That bike reminds me of a friend of mine's bike.

I'm torn between the biggest baddest Ducati sport tourer (can't remeber the size/name) and a Gold wing loaded....
But for now, my bike IS a result of previous dream!

As a 40+ year serial offender in the "grass is always greener" motorcycle merry-go-round I've tried them all, from Goldwing to Harley to BMW, all sizes and uses from dirt bike to cruiser to tourer to crotch rocket. After all that I really think right now (and in the future) I have the perfect bike for me -- my Wee-Strom.

Yes, I recently picked up a Kawasaki KLX250 for serious trail use, but the Wee will always be my main bike. And probably -- almost certainly -- my last bike.
