I am planning on a trip to ride SR 160 from Cumberland, KY to Appalachia, VA in the spring of 2016 and was hoping to get a little local info. I heard the road might be in bad shape. Is this true?
If we do this, where should we stay, eat, etc.?
Suggestions on anything?
There is a video of this ride on you tube. If you search "Black Mountain KY 160" it should be the first hit.
So far, I am going (Frankfort, KY) with my two sons (Lawrenceburg, KY) and I expect to have several others if I get some good info.
Any help would be appreciated and all riders are welcome to join in.

i'm in Harlan co just rode bl. mt. a couple of weeks ago, great ride. best bet is to stay in Harlan, more choices to stay and eat. let me know when you are coming here I'll show you some more roads here.
