Hey Guys I have rode many miles but have never had a good boot. I have used mostly hiking boots but the toe was always to thick. Any suggestions on what kind of rain proof and about a 10 or 11 inch boot with a toe height that fits under the shift lever.

I had that very same problem until I accidently changed the position of my shifter when I replaced the chain and sprockets.
I was much happier with the shifter height. I no longer had to use the side of my boot to shift.
Just a thought.
For cold and wet weather I wear a pair of Danner's, provided by my employer LOL. For hot weather I wear a pair of military boots. I picked them up at a yard sale brand new and they fit perfect! Oh, and the color matches the rest of my leather, black!!
I buy black steeltoe made by Stanley from target. They're waterproof, cover the ankle, and they're under 50 bucks.
The shifter is adjustable and much easier to adjust than buying new boots.
www.redwingshoes.com use caution and buy boots that are made in america. priced high but a good value at the price
For those with well endowed feet (US size 14+)

Georgia Boots Brand:
Georgia Giants Steel Toe Work Boots

Durable and comfy, comes in the larger sizes, made in the USA.

The only draw back I have had is the Made in the USA "Eagle" stamp in the center of the sole just before the heel needs to wear down a bit before they stick to the pegs really well. This adjustent is helped along by 10 seconds work with a half round double mill file :)

I wear redwings too, true, high price but good quality.
I picked up a pair of H-D 6" boots for $75 at the H-D dealer. They're comfy, leather, wind proof, water proof and my over pants fit right over them. Oh yeah and the most important is that they're comfy to wear off the bike while walking too.

And I with my waterproof lace-ups. Think they're only 7" though.
