Since I got the bike back in March I have been having problems with the carb. It has been running super rich, so much so that I had the A/F mixture screw completely closed. I learned something about carbs from a friend of mine. He stated that if something is clogged the carb will draw fuel from where ever it can. So I tore it apart one more time and found a partially clogged idle jet. So this carb was pulling from the fast jet at idle and causing all kinds of havoc. I kept thinking I had a leaking inrichener or accelerator pump. Never would of thought too much fuel would be caused by a clog. But things are running like they are supposed to now.

Thanks for the info. Just where is the idle jet? Do you mean where the A/F mix screw goes into the carb? Didn't know that's what it's called, but makes sense.

When you take the bowl off there is two jets one is at the bottom of the needle guide "main jet" the other is the "Jet, Slow" (item 42 on the parts diagram) for my bike.

OK I see, you meant the 'slow' jet (aka pilot jet) can also be called an idle jet. Three names for the same one is a bit confusing.
