Clutch outer housing gears

hi guys. I'm in the garage working on putting this engine back together. I have come to a problem with my clutch outer housing and I'm looking for some help so I don't mess anything up. the clutch outer housing has two sprockets that are (I think) misaligned. I believe that they should be exactly in line with each other, but the manual doesn't give any details on that. I have been trying to align the two sprockets together so that they will slip on to the primary driven gear to its right and onto the oil pump drive sprocket. I have two outer housings, and both look the same, in terms of a slight misalignment.
Any clue on how to get them to line up?

okay, I figured it out as I was waiting for the images to upload in my last post. I decided to post it anyway and a picture of how I got around it, for posterity. used a scrap piece of hardwood, and put the housing on as much as I could to align it with the primary gear. then used the wood and a mallet to tap the misaligned gear into alignment and slid housing on to where it belongs. by the way, I forgot to mention this is a 1983 vt 750 engine. cheers to the wrenchers!

i tried using a screwdriver and a few other methods, but hesitated using too much force with metal on metal. my best idea that didn't work was to use my backup primary driven gear and put it in the clutch sprocket teeth and whack it until they moved together.

clutch is all sealed up, next week i'll have my cylinders back from honing, just got new rings today in the mail, and then it's just lube and assemble. just in time for the great weather, here in chicago.
