So I'm about ready for new tires. This will be my first experience at buying and having mounted and balanced. WhAt should I anticipate having to pay for the mounting and balancing? I ride a 2009 Shadow spirit c2

Also any recommendations on tires?

There is no reliable way we could answer that collectively. Numbers range widely. You need someone local to guide you.

Then it's a 750?

Dunlop D404s suck unless you've got yourself a garage queen.

Metzeler ME880/ME888 are what I've been running for years. LOVE THEM.

Pirelli (MT66?), Michelin (Commander II) and even Bridgestone (Don't know the model numbers) also get recommended here. Maybe some other brands, too.

Bargain shoppers recommend Kenda and possibly another brand. (I don't pay much attention.)

A few folks will recommend a car tire on the rear. That could incite a war of words. (Again, I don't pay much attention.)

I ordered my tires online and took the wheels off myself. The Honda dealership charged $47 including tax to mount and balance them. I saved about $150 compared to buying the tires from a shop and letting them do all the work.
