hey folks, i got a 1988 Honda shadow vlx 600. Now it sounds pretty weak right now with the stock exhaust and i'd like to make it sound better. I don't have cash for a new exhaust so i was wondering if i could cut out the baffles. I've heard good things and bad things about it. I was also wondering if i would need to rejet it. What's your guy's opinions? I thought it would be fine on an older bike.

I like it. On the 1100 you can use a hole saw and cut around the rear baffle then take some vice grips and pull it out. At least u can hear the engine now.

love the sound with the baffles out of my 1100... no idea what baffles are in your bike though

You can drill a couple of 3/8 holes in the plate at the end of your exhaust. Will be a little louder and you will not have to rejet.
