Bikes, Blues and BBQ starts next Wed, Sep 21. Is anyone interested in daily updates (pictures) from the event? If you have never been, seeing what goes on may help in planning for next year. Since I live here in Fayetteville, I will be going every day just as I have for the past 16 years.

Heck yeah. That would be cool to see it. It's on my "To Do" list.

IMG_20160920_124734271_HDR.jpg First picture. The stage went up Monday and vendors had started setting up. More activity Tuesday. The rally officially starts today. Bikes started rolling in on Saturday. The bike in the picture is here every year and has been since year 5. He got here Tuesday morning, found the truck driver who was parked in "his spot" and had him move. He stays there until Sunday morning.

Steve D., I'm taking your suggestion and heading up there tomorrow morning from Texas. Plan to head to the fairgrounds and camp one night, then head back friday morning. Quick trip but should be fun. Should i post pics to this thread?

You can post photos. I am sure you will capture a different point of view than I will.

Day two. Spent the first 4 hours waiting for my brother to pick up his souvenir. After 12:30 by the time he was done. It was over 90 degrees and humid so we went to lunch and then home. We went back to Dickson St in the evening. Here are the pictures. There is a picture of my Indian front wheel in a sea of Harleys as my brother got his 2011 HD Street Glide. It is a purple (he calls it Merlot) bike which I promptly named Barney. So here are the pictures. Sorry for some being blurry. I guess the heat got to me and my arms got a little shaky.

My wife's grandpa got himself a new bike on Wednesday so we loaded up the RV and are heading down there now. Be there in a few hours.

I plan in hitting that up heat year. Especially since there is a good chance that my son will be attending UofA then anyway. Maybe camp at Devil's Den.

Day 4 we went to where the big vendors set up. Indian, Slingshot, HD, Suzuki all had their demo rides ready. Windshield, muffler mods and other accessories all done right there. The Polaris groups seemed to dominate and drew lots of attention. The only Honda booth is the one that is up at Dickson St and that is Heartland Honda. No factory presence.

We went to the free live music in the evening. We got there just when one band ended and waited about half an hour for the change. The next band came on stage and took 20 minutes to mic check, voice check, and get ready. They looked like an 80s hair band and that is what they were. Not my kinda music, but what the heck, it is free. Not that they were bad, but when the crowd started laughing at their rendition of "Jump" Van Halen, I just left.

There were several vendors offering trike conversions. Indian and Goldwing seemed to be the preferred bikes.

It was hot again. But people seemed to be having a good time.

The real day 4, just notice that the last post was titled that, but I guess it just felt like 4 days. There is a lot to do and see. Overall it was a great rally. Lots of police on foot, bike and bicycle patrols kept it calm. We rode yesterday so no pics. Saturday is saturated with events. A car show, custom bike competition, music, food, poker runs.

I didn't get to everything because I go every year and it's the ole been there, done that. My brother was here from PA and we did spend about 8 hours waiting for him to buy a used HD from Pig Trail Harley. He doesn't know it yet, but I stuck a removable Indian decal on the rear bumper.

There was one motorcycle accident Saturday at 12:30 am. Rider went into a tree coming around a curve. Only one bike was stolen instead of the usual 4. Not bad considering there are around 150,000 to choose from.

Only 364 days to go for the next one. It is great fun.
