So I started the holesaw mod on my 2006 VLX, and everything has gone to plan so far. After drilling the top pipe out, I was contemplating how to drill the bottom one (it's an awkward angle) and then my dad stopped by and suggested I start it up as is, to see if it's loud enough already. I did that and it sounds great, but I'm wondering if there will be any negative effects from this. I was told it will just create uneven backpressure but cause no damage to the engine. If I can, I'd like to just leave it one hole normal, one hole drilled out.

Alright thanks. I ended up take a few pieces off to get better access to the end of the pipe and I was able to get the drill in there.

:D :D Hi, did my 88 vt600 vlx in the summer last year,
But I did it MY WAY!! took off the exhaust put in a work mate, (a free standing bench)
using a small nailpunch i went all around the rear end 1/2" apart on
both pipes, then drilled out with a very small drill bit. gradualy getting
biger till I reached the size that looked good (8mm i think) then I used
an 8mm welded18"long drill bit to go through all the baffles,
It SOUNDS AWSOME and look's as if it is stock.
OFF, DRILLED, ON. EASY ONE DAY. :D :D :D
