I found a MS Fats 19" windshield listed for $143 + shipping as new in original packaging which the seller said was removed for taking pictures. Well the item arrived today at my doorstep and when I opened the box the shield had no protective covering over it. The plastic bag and a sheet of styrofoam were wadded up at the bottom of the box. The shield has a bunch of scratches and swirls top dead center along what looks like tape residue or some other gunk along with some other scratches on the loweres. The straps also have some scratches. The carton looks like it's been around the block a few time also.:twisted:

Yep, apply for a refund. You'll most likely get it. Straight out ask the seller for a refund first though. EBay will require that you communicate with the seller I believe.
The seller offers a full 30 day refund if it's not as described. I've taken pictures to back up my claim if needed. I wonder if negotiating a price reduction would be worthwhile if I can remove the scratches with Novu as recommended by Memphis Shields which costs ~ $20. I've never used it so have no idea how well it works. Or is it better just to cut my losses in return shipping?

For $143 did you get the mounting hardware also?
No, I ordered the mounting kit from CruiserAccessoriesOnline.com for $119 + $11.75 shipping. Going price just about everywhere is $149 for the trigger lock brackets.

Anyway, i am being long-winded sorry, RETURN IT, use the Ebay buyer protection and they pay return shipping.

sorry it happened to you man, i feel for you, i have had a similar thing done to me. thankfully its not that often
I just did that tonight thru E-Bay. Damaged goods and not as advertised. Now I have to wait for the seller to reply to make it good. While I'm waiting, I'm going to remove the old shield and use his to check for fit for height and see if it clears my highway lights.

Just wondering, what didn't you like about your old shield?
Too short for my 6'1" height so the wind would hit me on top of the helmet. My Dad who is 5'7" cut it down to 17" so he could see over it when he owned the bike.

Today the seller agreed to the return request, refunding the full amount including shipping and provided a free return USPS label. So if you're looking for a MS Fats 19" MEM3310 on E-Bay don't buy it from Dustyparts or you'll get a scratched up one ;)

So, are you going to by a new one now?
Yes sir! Found a web retailer out of CA that sells them at 10% below MS retail along with free USPS Priority shipping. Same company I ordered the mounting kit from. I'm sure it's factory direct ship from Memphis Shields as most suppliers do so it will be new in factory packaging. $175 for the 19" and $186 for 21" no matter the color or tint gradient so you save $20 over MS locked in retail price.

Today I received my shipping confirmation from eBay that my returned shield had been delivered to the seller. So now just waiting for the refund to be processed before ordering my new one. Now I'm wondering if I should order the clear or solar shield so looks like some travel to some of the local bike shops and dealers on Saturday to see if they have a display of the various color options.

This sounds counter-intuitive, but I'd recommend stick with the clear. Let your goggles dim the light for you, not the windshield. This way, in low-light conditions, you can wear clears and have an unobstructed view of the road, anytime of the day or night.
That's what I was thinking also.

If the wind hits you on the top of the helmet, why are you getting a taller screen that will make you look through it?
I won't be looking thru it but just a tad over it with room to adjust up and down. Plus thinking ahead when I replace the stock Honda seat with a Mustang seat later this year which raises the seat height. ;)

I've never had a problem with mustache tickles but then I keep mine trimmed short. :D
AnyHOO the seller refunded my purchase to my Paypal account today and I submitted the transfer to my bank account so will be a couple of days before it gets posted. My assistant mgr bought my old shield to mount onto his 95 Honda Shadow 1100 ACE which is basically naked except for saddle bags.

I received my new MS Fats shield today from Cruiser Customizing via FedEx. Box looked like it had been around the world with previous shipping labels removed and retaped several times. Upon removing the bag and foam packing the shield had a major crack in the lower left hand side and some scuff marks center. Called their customer service immediately to report my damaged goods and sent pics to get a RMA and return shipping label. Now I have to wait for that to be sent. I requested that I receive a brand new factory shield since this one had a MS date label of 10/16/2012. Replacing a windshield shouldn't be this exasperating.
