In the restore project of my 96' vt1100, I knew from the start that there was going to be lots of hidden problems. The previous owner of the bike had just purchased a new battery. Obviously it was not the fix to the problem. I know in the past this connector subject has been covered at length but I felt I would stir the pot again with my own findings. On EBay I found a replacement (Metric Pack 480 series 3 conductor connector set 14 ga.) for $9.75. It's weather tight and should serve very well compared to the factory connector. I'm not sure that I'll keep this project bike when I'm finished but if I was I'd add a Mosfit Rectifier. Here's some photos

The stock stator wires are 12 gauge and some have even used 10 gauge. I think 14 gauge may be too small.
