We got a break in the weather so I took my 2 bikes out for a spin yesterday, including my wife's '06 Honda Shadow 750 ACE. After about 15 minutes of riding, I came to a traffic light. While waiting, the bike just quit running.

It had been running smoothly the whole time but while idling, it just stopped.
Then, when I tried to restart, it was completely unresponsive. Nothing. I checked to make sure the clutch was in, kickstand up, and key turned on properly. Again, nothing. I rolled the bike to the side and after about a minute and several attempts, it started.

My wife has had this happen four or five times.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the site McStratman!

When you say "completely unresponsive" do you mean no lights anywhere, or it failed to crank?

In any case, cleaning and tightening the battery terminals can help this condition. The main 30A fuse could also have some corrosion or be loose. Next up is various grounds cleaned and tightened. Good Luck! -Dave
