Thinking thinking about fabricating and arm that connect to the swing arm. can't find anything online but would like to know if anyone has made one out of sheet aluminum or got a chrome one made. even though it might get covered up by the pipes

You can use alum sheet and cut it out with a band saw. You would have to go larger than 1/8, maybe 1/4 depending load, try the cut off bins at metal supply place...

Or length of mild steel 3/4 to 1" H, 1/8" thick and spay frame color.

I've heard of some people using the 'shifter arm' from HD, which is about the same length, to replace that rod with. Some have even used chrome styled ones to match the bike 'theme'/look. Been considering doing it myself, as well, but haven't actually tried it, yet.

if yours is missing or broke and you want a replacement, you can get away with a piece of pipe the same length, then smash both ends with a hammer, and drill holes through the flat parts.
thats all the stock on is.
