If your thinking of welding find a really good welder experienced with aluminum. He/she should be able to guess close enough for a good weld. I have had lower units on outboards welded very sucessfully.

Interesting....we had a posting from a Aero guy that busted the shock connector off this past week.....is this a problem with shaft drives I wonder?

All I can say is its stupid to have the shock mounted to a piece that costs nearly $600 to replace. Oh well guess I'll see what happens.
